Ephemeral Visions

Transcending ephemerality through the lens and imagery.
Human

Moody

Luis at the park the other day.

Kept in by the rain this Sunday.

Urban Oasis

Lake of Xochimilco - Cuemanco

An oasis I get to more frequently than any other portion of Mexico City since I made it my new home.

Against the stream

Lluvia en Coyoacan, D.F. Mexico City.

Nothing usual about the amount of rain this year. Sadly, little is done to capture it and put it to good use in a region of the country that's suffering from an unrelenting depletion of the precious stuff.

¿Pedro Navaja?

Play – Coyoacán – México City

Children play soccer (football) on the grounds of the Church in Coyoacan.

For me, places are defined by the people that inhabit them, not the other way around.

Prehispanica

Traditional dance in downtown Mexico City.

Spent the day with these folks back in 2008. Sorry for pulling from the archives as I have been shooting some things here and there, but no time to go through it to check how it turned out. Will get to it, eventually.

Juvenal

Brown pride

I met Juvenal back in 2008 after taking some time to sit and chat with him and his friends at a meet downtown celebrating life and culture. Juvenal is very proud of his roots and Mexico's Prehispanic past and glories.

Siesta & The All-Purpose Pet

Have a great weekend.

Where’s…

Donde esta Carmen San Diego

From the last Mexico game of the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. The city of Mexico setup big screens for the people to come whatch the whole series of games out in the open at Mexico City's municpal square --Zocalo.

Morning Reprieve

Alivio Mañanero

Totally intrigued with this habit of taking breaks in the most undesirable of places.

Lone Traveler

Viajera en el metro.

Seen on Mexico City Metro on my way to the final stop at the Taxqueña subway hub.

The Old Man and His Magazine

Cuidador de Temixco.

Just got back from work a moment ago and it is 01:24 hrs. Got some stuff I shot this weekend but with no time to either look at them or see what I like, I decided to post this image taken back in 2008. The gentleman in this image was sitting contemplating a magazine when I saw him one Sunday in rural Mexico. He is in charge of maintaining the area where we have our weekend home –which I have been unable to get to for about a year now. He was relaxingin his front yard when I asked if I could take some photos of him while he, my mother-in-law, and I chatted away about the area and his past.

Little Wonder

An old friend visited us the other day to proudly introduce her second child in nine years --the first being a girl. This guy lit up the room that day with his smiles and laughs.

Warrior

At Mexico's key game against Argentina World Cup 2010.

Went to the gathering downtown this Sunday for the Mexico vs. Argentina match. Here's a little I'm almost certain took with stride Mexico's crash out of the 2010 World Cup.

Destroyer

Trash man of the streets of Mexico City

Seen on Cafetales between Bombas and Vista Hermosa, Delegación Coyoacán - Mexico City

Place & Tradition

Music box man at the Catedral, Mexico City.

Feeling a bit down because the lack of rest and time to dedicate to the people and and things that mean most to me. Here is a little something from a breather on Sunday.
